John Wentling takes the win at Salt City Criterium Classics, Men's Master 60+
John Wentling took the win recently at Salt City Criterium Classics with a patient and timely attack to take the win in the Men’s Masters 60+ race! He’s spent his season collecting quite a number of podiums, here’s the story of his latest:
Brief event/course description:
Fast and flat course, right in the middle of downtown Hutchinson, KS
How’d the race go down for you?
I attacked with three corners and four city blocks of headwind to finish in 1st place.
Which coach do you work with and how did your training help you prepare for the event?
I work with Coach Adam Mills. He knows what I’m capable of doing and pushes me to my limit several days prior to a race with a training plan that is specific for that event. Racing in your 60’s requires some additional recovery time and Coach Mills knows when to schedule that time for great race results.
What advice do you have for someone up and coming in your cycling discipline?
Hire a Coach. I’ve been on the podium 9 times this year. That wouldn’t have happened without the specific skilled training that you can receive from coaching.
