2019 Belgian Waffle Ride Survival Camp- Day 2

Day 2 was the big one: 100 miles, 8400 ft of climbing, and a LOT of dirt....errrr mud. It rained a bunch the night before and when we started bright and early, it was still drizzling.

Good morning, Day 2! All ready to go with a sleek Orucase saddle bag.
Castelli came to the rescue with the ultimate rain gear.
Shelby set up riders with Selle Italia test saddles.
WD-40 Bike saved our bikes this weekend!
A little rain wasn't going to take away from the awesomeness of riding a Canyon demo! Especially set up lovingly by Velofix (North San Diego County)!
There was PLENTY of mud to start us off for our first dirt section of the day. Nite Rider Technical Lighting kept us visible.
Otto from Peloton Magazine ran around to get the best shots for a BWR Survival Camp recap video. Danny Munson shot photos of Otto. Is this the media Matrix!?
1/3 done for the day!
ENVE test wheels with IRC tires made for a delightful, dirty experience.
We climbed the Three Sisters...
Shelby of Monster Media Racing was a huge help running a follow vehicle and sandwich shop at the base of Black Canyon. Thanks Shelby!
Black Canyon- here we go!
That's a doozy.
At the top of Black Canyon! Halfway through our day.
Then the sun came out to lift our spirits.
Reapplications of AMP Human Performance PR Lotion were required.
Tired but satisfied, we took our second journey up Double Peak.
We were greeted back at HQ with a WD-40 bike washing, finished by Velofix.
Also...massage by Cyclists Massage
And of course, Lost Abbey beer.
We capped the night with a group meal, smores, fire, and new friends.
