Grant earned a Master of Science- Exercise Physiology at the University of Kansas in 2008 and began coaching with Source Endurance in 2011. Grant combines his formal schooling education with over a decade of racing experience to help his athletes succeed in their respective discipline. As a coach, Grant has led various types of athletes achieve athletic success while implementing his knowledge of physiology, nutrition, and principles of strength training.

Grant is a competitor in several cycling disciplines as well as other team sports. His first taste of competitive cycling was racing mountain bikes in Minnesota as a teenager.  Into young adulthood, he played college football, competitive soccer, and hockey.  Most recently his cycling aspirations are in road, cyclo-cross, and his resurgence into mountain bike racing.

In his Masters program, Grant participated and assisted with many strength and conditioning studies with the capstone of his program being the formulation of his own project, which analyzed the psychological skills, coaching, and performance of cyclo-cross athletes.

As a coach, Grant has led various types of athletes achieve athletic success while implementing his knowledge of physiology, nutrition, and principles of strength training.
