Shadd Smith maximizes variety in training and adds exploration rides

From Shadd Smith:

Since the start of the mandatory COVID-19 quarantine I have been working from home, home schooling my two teenagers, working on way overdue house projects and riding a shit load. With that said boredom has not entered my vocabulary not even once. On the cycling and training side of things, having a coach is making this time go by way quicker. Preparing for some of the harder and longer training sessions has certainly encouraged me to stay on track mentally, nutritionally, and physically. I have A LOT of bikes in the garage so each day to keep it fresh I will choose whatever bike is speaking to me. My routes have dramatically changed as well. Instead of taking the predictable route, I may go completely rogue and explore...which is usually not my character. The bottom line is that sticking to my training plan designed by my coach might just keep me from going crazy not racing. Ride on!
