Gilberto Cortez BS
Gilberto Cortez is a dedicated performance coach with years of experience helping athletes achieve their full potential through science-backed, personalized training programs. A USA Cycling Level 1 Certified Coach and a TrainingPeaks Level 2 Certified Coach, Gilberto began his coaching journey in 2014, transitioning from competitive athlete to coach to share his passion for the science of performance.
Over the years, Gilberto has continuously advanced his knowledge and skills. He holds certifications from USA Cycling and TrainingPeaks and is proficient in using cutting-edge tools like the VO2 Master and TrainingPeaks WKO5 software to deliver precise, data-driven training plans. His approach combines advanced methodologies with a focus on tailoring programs to the unique needs of each athlete.
In 2024, Gilberto was named the Training and Development Director for Padyak Racing Team, reflecting his leadership and expertise in the field. Previously, he worked with youth athletes through the Eastlake / SBC MTB Team, helping junior cyclists build foundational skills and structured training habits. While his focus has since shifted to developing competitive athletes of all levels, his dedication to fostering growth and resilience remains central to his coaching philosophy.
With a commitment to results-driven coaching and clear communication, Gilberto empowers athletes to achieve their best while enjoying the process. Whether guiding juniors or seasoned competitors, he leverages technology and science to optimize performance and help each athlete reach their goals.
